What do I do with the rest? What about selling my current home? This process is enough to paralyze even the most organized of us.

Aren’t all moves transitions? Well, yes. But certain ones require a specific skill set. Are you an empty nester with children in college, ready to exchange upkeep and maintenance for travel and leisure—and tuition bills? Perhaps you are ready to reduce the complications of your large family home with an eye toward the future and aging in place. Maybe you have a health challenge or are a caregiver who needs a higher level of support or community. Or, maybe you have lost a parent and are settling their estate. These transitions all come with their own challenges.

At Ray and Poynor, our team of Transitional Move Experts are licensed REALTORS® with an average of 21 years in the industry. They each also hold a Seniors Real Estate Specialist® designation. Our Transitional Move Experts offer a menu of services—available as a comprehensive package or a la carte—to those exploring transitioning out of their home due to entering a different stage of life. This can be a stressful time filled with uncertainty, both for those moving and those trying to help them. We want to be your move concierge and guide you home.

Where will I live?

  • Downsizing

    Your move concierge will help you find the right property for your needs and budget.

  • Assisted Living/Skilled Care/Independent Living Community

    Your move concierge will provide a list of partner providers that contract with assisted living/skilled care/independent living communities to help you find the perfect fit. This process typically includes tours and lunch at several facilities, and you select the one the best suits your needs. Our partner providers are compensated by the assisted living facilities, so there is no cost to you for this service.

  • Remain in Current Home

    Our partner providers in this area focus on those who prefer to remain in their current home by outfitting it with the necessary staff and equipment to meet your needs. You pay for these services directly to the partner provider.

     

What should I take with me?

Should you decide a move is the right fit,your move concierge can help pair you with partner providers who specialize in this area. Depending upon your needs, you may choose partner providers who provide floor plans and measurements of your new home and help you determine a furniture plan and decor, or those who specialize in de-cluttering and staging for sale—or all the above. You pay for these services directly to the partner providers.

 

How will I get my things there?

When ready, your move concierge will provide you with partner providers who will schedule and coordinate your physical move, from furniture placement to art on the walls. You pay for this service directly to the partner provider.

 

What do I do with the rest?

Your move concierge will provide you with a list of partner providers who are experts in estate sales and arranging for pickup of remaining items. They will also have your home professionally cleaned. These services are paid directly to the partner providers.

 

What about selling my home?

Our team of Transitional Move Experts will guide you through the whole process: preparing your home for showings and negotiating from contract to close. They are available for any questions you may have along the way.
